Welcome to Frutzle.com
What is a frutzle?
That is the most frequently asked question I (never) hear, right after "What does frutzle mean?" Don't worry, these questions, along with a bunch of other ones, have been answered on the F.A.Qs page.

What can I do here?
Very little, unless you came here looking for the Photoshop tutorials or want to gawk at the list of all movies and TV shows I own on DVD (you can do that here).

I'll add more content over time, but as of yet have no idea what that'll be.
If you have some ideas for me and don't mind sharing them, feel free to contact me.
Updates
DVDs page update - 27/1/2010
Just like the last "news" update, it's been a while.
This time there's not too much new. I've added some new titles to the DVDs page and since I've started buying movies on Blu-Ray, I've had to add an icon to specify those: Blu-ray Disc
There are a few titles I now have on both DVD and Blu-Ray, but that's because they came in a package deal I just couldn't refuse. As I don't rate the extras or anything like that, I've kept the ratings for the duplicates the same.

Games Dictionary added - 14/8/2009
I almost can't believe it's been this long since I actually had something added or changed that's worth mentioning, but what can I say?
Due to me having a short vacation and a little time on my hands, I decided to put together a short (30-item) list of common game terms and their explanations. Now these were written by me, so I can only hope they'll make sense.

On a side note: I have been keeping the DVDs page up-to-date with new movies, but there's little point mentioning that every time I add a movie or two, right?

DVDs page update - 18/1/2009
I couldn't quite figure out how to keep the page's load time down while still letting you view all titles without reloading the page, so I've instead opted for one page per starting letter.

While I was doing that, I also fixed a few of the rating errors, though I found out some of those "wrong" ratings weren't due to copy & paste errors but rather a flaw in my rating system: I couldn't give out halves. So some titles were rated slightly higher than they deserved, and that's why I've added halves.

New "tutorial" - 14/1/2009
Unfortunately (?) it's not a Photoshop one, but a very simple PHP one that makes development of a site a tad easier as it removes the need to alter relative links between the offline sites and online sites, which usually aren't the same (http://localhost/sitedirectory/file vs. http://domain.tld/file).
Check the tutorial out here.

On a different note: I found some DVD titles have the wrong rating. This is due to a copy & paste error on my side rather than bad taste - which I've also been accused of recently. Several of these ratings will be fixed shortly, as I plan on updating the page within the next few days.

More DVDs - 13/1/2009
I've added a bunch more DVDs to the DVDs page, and it's getting to be quite a big file, which means it's taking more and more time to load. Because of that I'm looking into ways to still keep everything on one page (less "browsing") but loading the titles in a different way.
Got ideas on what'd work well? Let me know.

Bugs bugs bugs - 11/1/2009
Turns out the site wasn't as "done" as I thought it was: IE doesn't like it one bit.
After some quick changes it looks better, but IE is IE and does what it's famous for... Most of the layour problems have been solved, though there are some things I just can't be bothered fixing, like the arrow for the drop-down menu of the Photoshop tutorials not being lined up correctly, or the right-side borders of the 'blocks' of content being too thin.
At least it works in Firefox, Chrome, Opera and even Safari (though that POS doesn't like Bold text).

DVDs updated - 11/1/2009
With a couple "new" movies on the way (hooray for 75% off sales) I decided to do a little work on the DVDs page.
The most noticable changes are that titles are now accompanied by their year of release (where possible) and both the rating icons and the "open in a new window" icon are in green to match the rest of the site's colours.

I've also started working on a few new tutorials, but as of yet have no idea when they'll show up here.

Another page added - 6/1/2009
I hadn't really planned on it, but there's a new page: Photos.
Last week I had to replace someone's old HDD and in the preparation process came across an old one I had lying around. Rather than keep it around to gather more dust, I took it apart and took some pictures of the innards of the hard drive.
This gave me the idea of putting them up on this site, with the ability to add more later, making it a somewhat interesting page eventually.

New tutorials - 4/1/2009
Realizing I already had everything to make the first two tutorials for the various tutorials page, I set out to get them done.
For now the "tutorials" that're there are for calculating & showing your age (and optionally your birthday), and on how to make an IF-Else-statement around HTML in PHP.

Info - 4/1/2009
After searching for a little help on how to do IF statements differently (if you don't know what IF statements are, don't worry) I not only learned something new, but also thought of a new page I could put up here: various tutorials.
On that page (currently still empty) I'll place anything that could count as a tutorial but isn't about Photoshop. Who knows, it might grow into something.

On another note: I've added some content to the About page, although I'm at a complete loss what to put in the top part of it. After all, just about everything I could put there is already in the F.A.Q.s...

And there are DVDs - 3/1/2009
This inability of mine to go sleep at a normal time better not last much longer, but today it's been helpful: the DVDs page is as far done as it's ever been.
I'll try to update the missing IMDb links in the near future, but finishing the About page and finishing the next tutorial are higher on my list.

We have contact! - 2/1/2009
Wow, that took a lot of trial & error, but it looks like the email form is done.
I tested it extensively, so I'm confident the form won't throw errors if you enter everything correctly (read: valid email addresses, correct answer to the question).

No WWW - 1/1/2009
The new year has started, and there's one new thing on the site: the Class B image on the left-hand side, below the menu.
It means this domain has been verified as a Class B domain on no-www.org. In short: you can get to any page on this site by entering the URL with or without the www. in front of frutzle.com, but if you enter it with the www. you'll be redirected to the same URL without it.

New page - 30/12/2008
With one day of the year left after today, I've made some small changes to the CSS file, fixed some typos here and there and, since I was working on the site anyway, and added back the printer friendly page for the tutorials.

New content - 29/12/2008
Busy days, with lots of experimentation going on, but I've made progress:
- fixed a teeny-tiny problem with some variables that, once uploaded, messed everything up,
- added the FAQs, which is mostly the same as it was on the "old" site, with the new addition of links to expand or collapse the entire list at once (saves quite some clicking).
- fixed a typo in the CSS that messed up every link on the site.
- added the ability to create more parts on the left-hand side underneath the menu in case I want to add links or whatever.
- made the pages and CSS file more compliant to W3C standards (though I really don't care as long as it works).

I've also began thinking about how to best do the DVDs page and what to put on the About page, and I'm going to look into getting the contact form (which isn't online yet) working.

It's (a)live! - 27/12/2008
Hooray, the site's live.
Kind of anyway. I've managed to upload everything and set up the email (I think) but I can't view it yet as I have to wait for my ISP's records to update.
For this reason I can't be sure I set up the email correctly. Hopefully I'll find out soon enough.

Host - 26/12/2008
I've found a host. Godaddy has a 15% off offer going at the moment, so I signed up with them. That way I could get hosting for two years with plenty of space and all the features I need for less than what I had in my paypal account.
Right now I'm waiting for the DNS data to get done, then I can set up the FTP and email, and upload the site. I expect all of that to be ready in about a day or two, which'll give me time to add more to the (currently empty) pages and fine-tune the basis a bit more.

New site! - 25/12/2008
Okay, so it's not live yet, but I'm working on it, and that must count for something... Right?

So, why the new site if the old one wasn't even that old? Because my host pretty much disappeared without warning.
I was able to email, but couldn't update the site in any way. I shouldn't known something was going on when I lost FTP access, but the site was still there, so I figured it was due to their maintenance. Plus I didn't have anything important to do anyway.

Now I've done two major things with this new site:
1) I've made a new look. Maybe not as cool as the last one, but it's more flexible, letting me use more room on screen when necessary.
2) I've switched to PHP, which is a brand new thing for me, so it took quite a bit more work to get anything done on the server (functions, if-statements, includes etc.).

Even though the site's basis is there, I still need to work on finding a reliable new host (which will probably end up being Godaddy) and then finish putting everything back on the pages.
So far the photoshop tutorials are in place, with the exception of the printer-friendly pages. But, to make up for that, I've included a collapsible sub-menu (click the down-facing triangle to open/close the sub-menu) for the tutorials so you can visit them from any page.
